Aurangabad, Oct 24:

The hearing on the Maratha reservation will be held in the Supreme Court on October 27. The Maratha Kranti Morcha on Saturday decided to launch a massive agitation against the state and union governments if the decision goes against the Maratha reservation.

The state level meeting of the Morcha was held at Aurangabad on Saturday. Sakal Maratha Samaj, Maratha Kranti Thok Morcha, Shivsangram Sangram and other Maratha organization representatives were present. Co-ordinators, Ramesh Kere Patil, Ravi Kale and Vinayak Mete informed the newsmen about the decisions taken in the meeting. They said that the state government should make a firm planning to present the stand of the Maratha community in the Supreme Court so that the interim stay on the Maratha Reservations can be removed. If the Supreme Court''s decision goes against the reservations on October 27, severe agitation will be launched from October 28 onwards.

They said that the government should not rely on the president of the cabinet''s sub-committee, Ashok Chavan but discuss the issue with chief secretary and solicitor general and decide a strategy to remove the stay on the Maratha reservations. The government should also announce a programme within 15 days to resolve the demands related to students’ hostel, Sarthi scholarship scheme, establish Sarthi sub-centre at Aurangabad, and issue funds Annasaheb Patil Financial Development Corporation and others. Similarly, the educational institutes should reserve 10 percent seats for Maratha youths until the reservation issue is not resolved, they demanded.

Kere Patil said, that MP, Udayan Raje should resign from the post over the issue of reservation and the entire Maratha Community will support him. He should led the agitation, he said.
