To make Marathi a language of knowledge and livelihood, it is essential to greatly increase the volume of information available in digital form, said Laxmikant Deshmukh, veteran litterateur and chairman of the Marathi Language Advisory Committee.

Around 150 language scholars participated in the workshop. Vice-Chancellor Dr Vijay Fulari presided over the function.

Former Vice-Chancellor Dr Pandit Vidyasagar and Dr Rahul Deshmukh were also seated on the dais. In the afternoon session, eminent educationist and former VC D. Pandit Vidyasagar delivered a lecture on “Scientific Encyclopedic Writing.” Principal of Government College of Engineering, Dr Sanjay Dambhare, Principal Dr Ratnadeep Deshmukh, Director Prof. Sachin Deshmukh and Dr Sneha Khobragade were also present.
