Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nanded range team secured 47 medals at the 36th Maharashtra State Police Sports Competition held in Mumbai from April 20 to 27. A felicitation ceremony was held at the police headquarters on Monday, where special inspector general of police Virendra Mishra honoured the medal winners.

Superintendent of Police Dr Vinay kumar Rathod, Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Sharmishtha Walavalkar, Aarti Pawar and In-charge Deputy Superintendent of Police Vinay Sonawane were present.

A 244-member contingent comprising 152 male athletes, 74 female athletes and 18 coaches participated, winning medals in individual events as well as team sports like basketball and volleyball. The tally marks an increase of 19 medals compared to last year.

Victory of determination

Special IG Mishra said the achievement reflects the players’ determination and hard work, expressing confidence that the range will continue to excel at the state level.
