A married woman allegedly died by suicide after jumping into a well in Dahegaon shivar. The incident came to light late on Friday night. Police and fire brigade teams rushed to the spot after receiving information via Dial 112 and recovered the body.

According to police, at around 2.12 am on Friday, information was received that a woman had jumped into a well in Dahegaon Bangla. Police personnel immediately reached the spot. A mobile phone, dupatta, and slippers were found near the well, while the woman’s body was seen inside the water.

During the inquiry, the deceased was identified as Namrata Borude (21, Dahegaon Bangla, Gangapur tehsil). Meanwhile, the Kanchanwadi sub fire station was alerted. Under the guidance of chief fire officer Ashok Khandekar and sub-station officer Vijay Rathod, a fire brigade team reached the spot. Firefighters entered the well and retrieved the body, which was handed over to Waluj police. The deceased had married on April 15, 2022. Her husband has been identified as Atmaram Borude (24), and she was residing with her family in Dahegaon. The exact cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained. Waluj police are conducting further investigation.
