Aurangabad, March 8:

Cidco MIDC police have registered an offence against Malegaon's youth on the charge of physically exploiting a married woman for the past two years. The duo came to know each other through social media (Facebook). The youth started to defame the victim by sending messages to her husband and other relatives.

The name of the accused is Pratik alias Rikki Patil (resident of Malegaon-Nasik). Police said, " The accused had sent a friend request to the victim through Facebook on July 9, 2019. The victim is a native of Malegaon but is staying in the city after marriage. As a result, she accepted the request. Later on, they became close friends who were constantly in touch with each other through social media. The accused developed closeness through chatting. Being a person from her parent's place (native), the lady shared some good and bad emotions with him. The accused also dared to arrive in Aurangabad and went to meet the married woman at her residence. She was alone in the house. Taking advantage of the situation, Pratik physically exploited her.

The woman in her complaint stated that he had exploited her four times from 2019 to March 6, 2021. Earlier, during the lockdown also, he was harassing her and insisting on meeting him. The victim showed inability due to the Covid-19 pandemic but continued to harass her by phone calls and messages stating to meet him. The accused started forwarding messages to her husband and other relatives to defame and malign her image on her refusal. When the harassment became intolerable, the lady complained to Cidco MIDC police station on March 7. Further investigation is on.
