Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday caught Dr. Vijay Dalvi (58), Medical Superintendent of Rural Hospital, Bidkin, and sanitation worker Narayan Brahmane (37) for allegedly accepting a Rs 1,200 bribe for conducting a free family planning surgery under a government scheme.

A 37-year-old complainant alleged that Dr. Dalvi initially demanded Rs 6,000, later settling for Rs 1,200 and directing the payment through Brahmane. Acting on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and caught Brahmane red-handed while accepting the bribe. Dalvi was subsequently detained. The bribe amount was recovered, and mobile phones of both accused were seized. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act is being registered at the Bidkin police station. Further investigation is underway.
