Aurangabad, April 7:

Shiv Sena leader and former MP Chandrakant Khaire submitted a memorandum with signs of one lakh residents for constructing tunnel at Outram Ghat to the union transport minister Nitin Gadkari at New Delhi on Wednesday.

The action committee has taken signs of one lakh residents on the memorandum demanding a tunnel at Outrum Ghat on National Highway 52 (211). A proposal should be sanctioned for jointly constructing a railway line between Aurangabad and Chalisgaon, the memorandum mentioned. Transport minister, Gadkari assured the committee that a tunnel will be constructed at the ghat.

The delegation included former MP Khaire, MLA Udaysingh Rajput, committee president Dr Annasaheb Shinde, Sarpanch Ashok Dabke and others.
