The Corona vaccination was started in the district around six months back. However, the vaccination was not accomplished as per expectation. The residents are giving meagre response to the vaccination drives and only 17 per cent vaccination has been completed in the district so far. Moreover, women seem to be apathetic towards vaccination as compared to men. So far, 6,27,209 residents were administered vaccination in the district so far including 3,55,852 men and 2,71,357 women.

Vaccination for the persons between the age group of 18 -44 years will start from June 21 and the vaccination feagures will increase by double, the health department sources said.

The vaccination was started from January 16 in the district. Initially, the health workers, frontline workers were administered vaccines followed by senior citizen and residents above 45 years with co-morbidities. Centres were established in all the wards in the city. However, the drive hamperred on several occasions due to the inadequate vaccine supply by the government.

In all, 6,27,209 persons have taken the doses so far including 3,55,852 men and 2,71,357 women. In all, 24,802 persons betweent the age group of 18-44 years have taken the first dose while 923 both the doses, 2,02,967 persons between the age group of 45 - 59 years have taken first doses and 43,242 both the doses, 1,54,533 persons of 60 years and above have taken first doses while 43,171 have taken both the doses.

40,402 persons have taken doses in Vaijapur tehsil, 37,109 in Sillod, 46,261 in Paithan, 13,611 in Khuldabad, 44,022 in Kannad, 21,236 in Phulambri, 47,251 in Aurangabad rural, 14,839 in Soyegaon and 3,24,431 in Aurangabad city.
