Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

In a solemn ceremony at Rukmini Auditorium, 240 nursing students from MGM Institute of Nursing Education and Mother Teresa College of Nursing took the Nightingale Pledge, vowing to uphold the highest standards of patient care.

Dr. Shrelekha Rajesh, Dean of Nursing at Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, led the event as the chief guest. She urged students to embrace their profession with dedication, honesty and compassion. "Every patient who walks into a hospital looks to you for hope. Your commitment must be unwavering," she emphasized. MGM Secretary Ankushrao Kadam lauded the students' discipline and their crucial role during the pandemic. "Your work saves lives. Carry this responsibility with pride," he remarked. Dr. Rajendra Bohra, MGM Dean, highlighted the significance of the lamp-lighting ceremony, calling it a symbol of knowledge and service. "Your hard work will define your journey in this noble profession," he told the students. The ceremony paid tribute to Florence Nightingale, the pioneer of modern nursing, whose legacy of selfless service continues to inspire. This oath-taking marks the beginning of a lifelong commitment for MGM's nursing students, who are now set to embark on their journey of compassionate service.
