To shape the future of higher education and technology, MGM University is set to host “METTA 2025” an interactive summit that promises to be a powerhouse of ideas and innovation. The event, themed “Empowering Ideas, Transforming Futures,” will take place on Saturday, April 20, at 11 am at the Rukmini Auditorium.

The highlight of the event will be the keynote address by Padma Bhushan awardee and acclaimed computer scientist Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, who will speak on “Globalization and Internationalization of Higher Education.” His presence, alongside five vice-chancellors and leading entrepreneurs, sets the stage for high-level dialogue on transformative academic strategies. Announcing the initiative at a press briefing, Vice chancellor Dr. Vilas Sapkal and registrar Dr. Ashish Gadekar emphasized that METTA 2025 Minds Empowered Through Transformative Technology and Academic Synergy is being introduced for the first time by the university's Internal Quality Assurance Cell. “This is a platform to bridge futuristic thought and institutional action,” Dr. Sapkal said. Distinguished academicians will address critical themes driving education reform. Other eminent speakers include Dr. K.V. Kale, vice-chancellor of BATU, who will delve into quantum technology and digital pedagogy; Dr Prashant Bokare, VC of Gondwana University, discussing the roadmap for education in Maharashtra over the next five years; and Prof. Rajneesh Kamat, VC of Dr. Homi Bhabha State University, focusing on industry-aligned education systems. Dr. Sunil Bhagwat, director of IISER, will highlight the journey from research to entrepreneurship, while Kailas Desai, MD of Endress Hauser India, will address strengthening industry-academia collaboration. Entrepreneur Mohini Kelkar will share insights on fostering innovation, startups, and tech transfer in universities. MGM chancellor Ankushrao Kadam and others will also engage with participants. The university has urged broad participation in this transformative dialogue.
