Chhatrapait Sambhajinagar: The Management Council of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University on Saturday approved the procedure for the recruitment of 73 teaching posts.

More than 150 posts are lying vacant in the different departments of the city and Dharashiv campuses. The posts comprise Assistant Professor (53), Associate Professor (12) and Professor (eight). A total of 86 applications have been received for eight Professor posts while the preliminary list was also announced. The screening process for Associate Professor and Assistant Professor posts is currently underway.

Registrar Dr Prashant Amrutkar said that the Management Council approved the procedure for the recruitment of 73 teaching posts. The final list of the candidates for the screening is yet to be declared.

New screening method for recruitment

The Higher and Technical Education Department revised the screening process on February 11, 2026, after the previous process of selection faced opposition from different universities and teachers' unions. The proposal for the procedure to complete the recruitment process, through committee-based screening of received online applications and selection, for 73 teaching posts was approved by the Management Council.
