MHT-CET 2020 result declared; 6 students from M’wada top in PCB

Aurangabad, Nov 29:

The State Common Entrance Test Cell (SCETC) declared the result of Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) result on Saturday night.

It may be noted that the SCETC conducted the test from October 1 to 20 for Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) groups students. Many students were deprived of the examinations as there was no transportation facility to reach the centre due to lockdown being implemented to contain the spread of Novel coronavrius.

With the relaxations in restrictions, the State Government enhanced transportation facility. Students and parents requested the Cell to provide one more opportunity for the examination.

The CET Cell collected a meagre fee and held an additional session on November 7 in groups. It was supposed to declare the result in the afternoon of November 28. Later, it was announced that the result would be out on December 5.

However, the SCETC declared the result last night.Those who have qualified will get admissions to an undergraduate course in Engineering, Pharmacy and Agriculture courses in Government, private aided and non-aided colleges across the State for the academic year 2020-21.

Over 5.42 lakh students had registered while 3.86 lakh of them appeared for the examinations at 197 centres in 36 districts the State and ten places outside.

A total of 32 sessions were conducted in 16 days. Around 18.73 (1.55 lakh) youths were absent. This means the percentage of attendance is 71.27.

Of the total appeared, 1.74 lakh candidates were present for PCM while 2.11 for the PCB.

There are 22 candidates who obtained 100 percentile in PCM. No students from the region got a place in it.

A total of 19 youths including secured 100 percentile in PCB. Among them are six students from Marathwada region. Their names are Vedant Mukul Joshi (Nanded),

Jyotiraditya Vinayak Kaliya (Aurangabad), Anuja Pandharinath Fulzalke (Aurangabad), Kedar Jayant Dumne (Latur), Abhay Ashok Chillarge (Latur), Pranav Ramling Tattapure (Latur).
