Aurangabad, March 19:

AIMIM party, on Friday, has initiated the suspension of its district president and three corporators of Jalgaon Municipal Corporation (JMC) for going against the party whip and voting in favour of Shiv Sena candidate during the mayor-deputy mayor elections which held on Thursday.

AIMIM's state executive president Dr Gaffar Quadri and the city president Shareq Naqshbandi informed the media that their party had always maintained a distance from parties playing caste politics. The JMC's mayor and deputy mayor elections were held yesterday, and three of our party corporators voted for the Sena candidate. Taking serious note of it, the party has initiated the suspension process of the district president Zia Ahmed and corporators Riyaz Ahmed, Sayyada Yusuf and Sana Raju Deshmukh. They have been told to submit their say in the party's office by March 21, or else the party will take its final decision, they clarified.
