Aurangabad, April 26:

MLA Sanjay Shirsath along with Shiv Sena 35-40 office-bearers and activists, were booked with MIDC Waluj Police Station on Sunday for flouting lockdown norms.

The State Government imposed strict curbs to contain COVID spread. Shiv Sena leaders ignored the norms and performed ‘Bhoomipujan’of new water pipeline at Jai Bhavani Society in Bajajnagar at 12.30 yesterday.

MLA Shirsath, former Sarpanch Sachin Garad, Sena tehsil president Hanuman Bhondve, deputy district chief Bappa Dalvi, Baban Supekar, Krishna Rathod, Kailas Chavan, Sunil Kale, Jitendra Jain, Kailas Bhokre, Popat Hande, Shilpa Narwade, Archana Jadhav, Sunita Gade, Savita Kakde who were present for programme, did not maintain the physical distancing.

President of Dawat Machala Party Bharat Phulare submitted a memorandum to the commissioner of police demand action against Shirsath and others for violating lockdown norms.

Meanwhile, police constable Vinod Nitnaware gave a complaint against MLA Shirsath and others. A case was registered with MIDC Waluj Police Station. PSI Sachin Pagote is on the case under the guidance of police inspector Madhaukar Sawant.
