Aurangabad, June 3:

The Judge of City Civil Court and Additional Sessions Judge (Mumbai) Mohammad Tanvir Iqbal Ahmad Asim has been appointed as the chairman of Maharashtra State Wakf Tribunal (Aurangabad), stated the notification issued by the Minorities Development Department (on dated May 31).

Earlier, the department has appointed the District Judge-1 and Additional Sessions Judge (Karad), Shabbir Ahmed A.Razzaque Auti as the chairman in March 2021, but he did not assume the office. As a result, the Bombay High Court recommended the name of Mohammad Tanvir for the appointment as the Chairman of the state tribunal. Hence exercising its powers the state government appointed Mohammad Tanvir on the said post, stated the notification issued by the additional chief secretary Jaishree Mukherjee (on the orders of the Governor of Maharashtra).
