An 18-year-old Class 12 student and her mother were brutally attacked with wooden sticks by five accused after the girl refused to share her mobile number in the Roshan Gate area on February 20.

The accused Aman Khan, Shafia Beg, Salim Beg, Sofiyan, and Raj, all residents of Roshan Gate first demanded the girl's number, then came to her house, knocked on the door, and verbally abused her. The girl did not open the door and informed her landlord. Later at around 4.30 pm, when the mother and daughter came downstairs to buy fruits, the accused confronted them, abused them, assaulted both with sticks, and issued death threats. Jinsi Police have registered a case against all five accused. Investigation is being conducted by police constable Vilas Shahane.
