Aurangabad, June 12:

In a bizarre incident, one motorcyclist dies after falling into a deep pit near Kachner on Friday night. The deceased have been identified as Arjun Gabaji Rathod (28, resident of Porgaon Tanda in Paithan, temporary resident of Naiknagar in Aurangabad).

It is learnt that Arjun had come to drop one of his relatives at Porgaon Tanda on Friday. While he was returning on his motorcycle at 9 pm, his speeding vehicle got stuck and fell in the deep pit on a sharp turn near Kachner (State Highway 215). His relatives search him during the night but were in vain. On Saturday morning, Kachner's Bapasaheb Bhanuse while going to his farm spotted one vehicle stuck in the pit. He immediately informed the villagers, who then identified Arjun as a resident of Porgaon Tanda. They informed the relatives of the deceased. The post mortem was performed at Bidkin primary health centre and then the body was handed over to the relatives to perform the last rites. Chikalthana police station has registered the case and further investigation is on.
