Aurangabad, Feb 10:

Movements have been started to remove the administrator appointed by the government on the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) at Jadhavwadi and to appoint a board of directors of Mahavikas Aghadi.

The term of the board of directors at APMC ended in August 2020. Currently, the government has appointed an administrator here. Political leaders of the three ruling parties have been planning to appoint a non-governmental board of directors to keep the market committee under their control. The process has gained momentum as planning is underway to appoint directors is being discussed. Some trade representatives have fielded in order to make their mark on this governing body. Earlier, the state government had appointed a non-governmental board on the market committee in Kolhapur on August 22, 2020.

The Jadhavwadi APMC was under the control of the BJP till August 2020. Radhakisan Pathade was the chairman. His term ended on August 5, 2020. The government then appointed district deputy registrar Anil Kumar Dabshende as administrator. Pathade has filed a petition in the court seeking an extension. However, now the ruling parties are pushing for the appointment of a non-governmental board of directors instead of an administrator. All eyes are on which political party will get the chief administrator.

Decision after discussion

The process has started at the political level to appoint a board of directors on the APMC. The new board will be appointed after a brief discussion in the Mahavikas Aghadi said MLC Satish Chavan.
