Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), along with agencies responsible for meter installation, has set up Smart Meter Knowledge Points at various locations to create awareness among consumers.

Domestic consumers opting for smart electricity meters are being offered a tariff concession ranging from 80 paise to Rs 1 per unit during daytime usage. Citizens have been urged to take advantage of this benefit and install smart meters without believing in any rumours, said chief engineer Pavan Kumar Kachhot.

MSEDCL has been observing a Smart Meter Fortnight from February 9. During this fortnight, which will continue until February 23, efforts are being made to address misconceptions among citizens regarding smart meters and to explain their benefits.

On Monday, chief engineer Pavan Kumar Kachhot visited the Smart Meter Knowledge Point at the Garkheda subdivision office and interacted with consumers. Superintending engineer Mahesh Pawar, additional executive engineer Santosh Adhikar and staff members were present on the occasion.
