The much-anticipated ‘Nagsen Festival’ will commence on March 28, running until March 30, with a lineup of cultural and literary events scheduled daily from 5 pm to 10 pm. Organized by past and present students of the People’s Education Society, this ninth edition of the festival will serve as a platform for artistic expression and equality-driven discourse.

Festival convener Sachin Nikam announced that Padma Shri award-winning photographer Sudharak Olwe will inaugurate the event at 6 pm on March 28 at Lumbini Garden in Nagsenvan. Over three days, the festival will feature music performances, lectures, discussions, multilingual poetry sessions, Bhim Geet renditions, Ambedkarite rap, and live art experiences, including murals and exhibitions. More than 30 artists will showcase their work through paintings, sculptures, and other artistic forms.

A special exhibition of Sudharak Olwe’s photography will be a highlight, alongside an exclusive showcase of paintings by renowned actress and artist Shubha Gokhale. Actor Kailas Waghmare is also set to make a special appearance.

In celebration of Bhim Jayanti, the festival will emphasize themes of democracy, equality, and freedom, echoing Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s philosophy through various artistic and literary expressions. The Nagsen Festival Committee has urged citizens to participate in large numbers.
