Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Department of Public Administration at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University will now be known as the ‘Department of Public Administration and Public Policy’. This name will be extended at the national seminar of the department in the presence of the Governor of Rajasthan, Haribhau Bagade, to be held on March 5.

Political Science was one of the departments that was started initially when Bamu was established in 1958. Head of the Department, Dr Shyam Shirsath, said that the subject of M.A- Public Administration was started in this department. In 1990, the university administration approved the creation of a separate department for the first time. Dr Parasmal Bora became the first head of the department.

D. Bora started the subject of 'Public Policy'. The proposal to expand the name of this department was approved by the Dean's Board and Management Council. The ceremony will be organised in the presence of the Governor of Rajasthan, Haribhau Bagade. Vice Chancellor Dr Vijay Fulari will preside over the meeting.
