Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Department of Biotechnology of Government Institute of Science (GIS), Department of Forensic Biology of Government Institute of Forensic Science (GIFS) and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University will jointly organise a national conference on ‘Recent Advances in Biotechnology for Health, Agriculture, Environment and Forensic Sciences-2026 on March 5.

Dr Rajendra Satpute (Director, GIS and GIFS), convener, Dr Mayavati S. Patil, co-convener Dr Anjali Naik said the event would serve as a premier platform for knowledge exchange between various researchers and academicians. They said harnessing the full potential of biotechnology is crucial for national development and achieving sustainable development goals in the 21st century.

The themes included Harnessing Biotechnology for Human Health and Well-being, Bioremediation and Circular Economy, Animal and Plant Science for Sustainable Agricultural Practices and Biotechnological Interventions in Forensic Science.
