Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

High-tension electricity wires have been hanging dangerously along the main road near Deolai village for the past eight days, posing a serious threat to the lives of local residents and motorists. The situation has created fear in the area, with villagers expressing anger over the alleged negligence of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).

Eight days ago, an old cement electricity pole on the roadside collapsed after being hit in a vehicle accident. Subsequently, MSEDCL merely placed a new pole by the roadside, but the work of erecting it has still not been carried out. At present, the high-tension wires have only been temporarily joined together and are hanging barely six to seven feet above the ground.

A large number of vehicles travel daily through Deolai village towards Sai Tekdi and the Gandheli area. Children from the village also play near the spot, while stray cattle frequently roam in the vicinity, increasing the risk further. Villagers have expressed concern that the possibility of a serious accident is even greater during the night.

Residents including Baburao Jadhav and Nadeem Patel have repeatedly informed MSEDCL officials and demanded immediate concrete action from MSEDCL. Locals allege that public safety is being ignored and have urged authorities to immediately erect the new pole and secure the wires in order to prevent any potential tragedy.
