Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The NGO Tahrik-e-Awqaf, today issued a warning that if the Waqf cases are not resolved within a month, the organisation will resort to protests.

While addressing a press conference today afternoon, the NGO president Shabbir Ansari said that a written petition was submitted before the Maharashtra Waqf Tribunal regarding the follow-up of 57 societies. Detailed discussions were held on the cases of seven societies, including the mosques at Railway Station (Pune), the Duleshah Rahman Dargah (Nanded), Biloli, and Lonavala. We also questioned the Waqf Board in this regard.

After pressing for the resolution of these issues, the chairman of the board assured that the matters would be settled within a month. Accordingly, Ansari warned that if the issues were not resolved within the given timeframe, they would have no option but to initiate protests.

The NGO office-bearers including secretary Mirza Qayyum Nadvi, Syed Moin Inamdar, Prof. Shaikh Zakiruddin, former corporators Abdul Qadir, Abdul Sattar, activists from Pune Abdul Jabbar, Syed Shakeel, Sajid Khan, Akhtar Khalil, Siraj Ilahi Shaikh, Shabbir Bhai (Lonavala), and activists from various parts of the state were present at the presence conference.
