NHIS: Training camp held for field officials

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The National Statistics Office (NSO), Field Operations Division (FOD), Regional Office (RO), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar organised a Regional Training Camp (RTC) for field officials for the upcoming National Household Income Survey (NHIS), here recently.

The NHIS 2026 is an initiative by Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) and India’s first-ever nationwide survey dedicated to measuring household income. The data collected will be essential for updating the consumer price index (CPI) and national accounts, while also helping the government analyze poverty and income inequality. These insights will allow Central and State Governments to design better welfare schemes.

The RTC was inaugurated by director, RO, Jayaprakash Honrao. Senior officials including assistant director (AD), sub-regional office (SRO), Jalgaon P V Patil, AD, SRO, Nanded Sharad Shinde, and AD, SRO Nashik Prashant Nanaware were present.

Honrao emphasized that the success of the NHIS survey depends entirely on the collection of high-quality and accurate data from every household. Shinde delivered the welcome address. Nanaware proposed a vote of thanks.

The department has appealed to the people to cooperate with visiting statistical officers by providing accurate and complete information. All information collected is kept strictly confidential.
