Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Despite earlier announcements of reduced power tariffs from April 1, electricity bills are still being issued at old rates.

MSEDCL had submitted a multi-year tariff petition to MERC, covering true-ups for FY 2022–24, provisional adjustments for FY 2024–25, and revised revenue needs till FY 2029–30. MERC initially approved the petition, but following MSEDCL's objections, the decision was stayed.

Current domestic rates:

• 1–100 units – Rs 4.71/unit

• 101–300 units – Rs 10.29/unit

• 301–500 units – Rs 14.55/unit

• 501–1000 units – Rs 16.64/unit

MSEDCL will now file a review petition, proposing phased tariff cuts over the next five years. Final rates will be decided by MERC. Meanwhile, consumers must continue paying as per existing approved rates.
