Waluj police arrested absconding accused Rahul Pawar (resident of Domegaon) in connection with a series of burglary and vehicle theft cases, detecting nine offences and seizing stolen property worth Rs 3,07 lakhs on Wednesday.

Acting under the guidance of police inspector Shivcharan Pandhare, police sub-inspector Ajay Shitole and a special team tracked the accused across Mirajgaon and Jamkhed (Ahilyanagar district) and Indapur (Pune district), where he was finally apprehended on March 25 after repeatedly changing locations to evade arrest. During interrogation, he confessed to the crimes. Police recovered silver bracelets, sarees, foreign liquor bottles and three stolen motorcycles. He also admitted to offences registered at police stations in Waluj, Ambhora (Beed), Walchandnagar (Pune), Nevasa (Ahmednagar) and Ichalkaranji (Kolhapur), leading to the detection of nine cases and resolution of several pending investigations.
