Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) lodged a complaint with City Chowk Police Station against the State president of All India Majlis-e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and former MP Imtiaz Jaleel, CSMC opposition leader Abdul Sameer Abdul Sajid and corporator Kakasaheb Kakade for allegedly obstructing the solid waste transfer centre in the N-12 area on Saturday evening at around 7 PM. A non-cognizable offence was registered on Sunday.
In the complaint made by Vishal Kamble, an employee of the company responsible for collecting garbage in the city, it was stated that door-to-door waste collection using closed vehicles has been underway at the parking area and the solid waste transfer centre near Satyavishnu Hospital in N-12, since May 2.
Waste from Zones No. 6, 12, 13, and 14 within the Municipal Corporation limits is sent to the processing centre at Harsul after collection.
This system of work has been in operation at this location since 2018. Municipal Commissioner Amol Yedge visited the transfer centre on Saturday at 4 PM.
Former MP Imtiaz Jaleel, Abdul Sameer, and Kakasaheb Gaikwad arrived at the transfer centre, halted the work there around 7 PM that evening and reportedly stated that no work should take place at that location.
As a result, the workers at the site panicked and fled. Additionally, one employee's mobile phone was allegedly snatched and thrown.
The complaint states that a climate of fear was created at the waste transfer centre in this manner. Accordingly, a non-cognizable offence has been registered against all three individuals.
