Aurangabad, Feb 9:

The third phase of corona vaccination will begin in the first or second week of March. In this phase, the dose will be given to citizens above 50 years of age. However, the registration process has not started yet. According to sources, instead of registration, the vaccine will be given to those coming to the centre on the spot.

Vaccination of health workers in the first phase of corona vaccination and frontline workers in the second phase is currently underway in the district. In all, 33,000 health workers are being vaccinated. The names of the vaccine beneficiaries had to be uploaded on the Co-Win app for both these phases of vaccination. The vaccination process is being carried out online. But the administration is encountering various difficulties. The vaccination process also slows down as the app runs slowly. The number of beneficiaries in the first and second phases of vaccination is limited. In the third phase, however, people above the age of 50 will be vaccinated. But so far no registration process has been started. In the third phase, the health administration is considering giving the dose by on the spot registration for vaccination.

Vaccination centres will grow

The number of vaccination centres will be increased, said district surgeon Dr Sundar Kulkarni said. The third phase of vaccination will start after March 6 for people above 50 years of age. Until then, the storage capacity of the vaccine will also increase, said deputy director of health Dr Swapnil Lale.
