Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

So far, 3,66,152 vehicles in the district have been fitted with High Security Registration Plates (HSRP). About 4,02,896 vehicle owners had registered to get these number plates, according to Regional Transport Officer Vijay Kathole.

However, around 1,84,952 vehicle owners in the district have not registered for the HSRP. The deadline for installation expired on December 31. There is confusion among officials and vehicle owners about whether an extension will be granted or if strict action will follow. Owners of vehicles registered before 2019 were instructed to install HSRP by December 31, 2025. Even though no further instructions have come from the transport department after the deadline, registration and installation of number plates are still ongoing.
