Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Examinations for undergraduate and postgraduate courses at colleges affiliated with Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University are set to begin from April 7 and April 16, respectively.
“A total of 2.81 lakh students will appear for the UG examinations, while 41,000 students will take PG examinations”, said Dr B N Dole, Director of the Board of Examination and Evaluation (BoEE).
A resolution was passed at the BoEE meeting to conduct undergraduate and postgraduate examinations simultaneously. Accordingly, a committee was constituted to finalise examination centres.
As per this resolution, the April-May examinations are scheduled to begin on April 7. However, BoEe Director Dr Dole stated that several difficulties arose in starting both UG and PG examinations on the same day.
“Therefore, dropping the insistence on a single start date, approval has been granted to begin undergraduate examinations from April 7 and postgraduate examinations from April 16,” he said.
Last time, undergraduate examinations were conducted over 47 days. This time, undergraduate examinations will be completed in 38 days, while PG examinations will be completed in 32 days. Director Dr Dole also stated that various measures have been taken to ensure copy-free, transparent, and speedy results.
He further clarified that district-wise and route-wise flying squads will be deployed for surprise visits to examination centres to ensure copy-free examinations.

Professors have been neglecting the evaluation of answer sheets of recently declared examinations. Many marked their attendance at evaluation centres but did not actually evaluate the answer sheets. Notices will be sent to such professors seeking clarification. Director Dr Dole also stated that if the explanation is not satisfactory, punitive action will be taken against those concerned.
