Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Nath Shashthi celebration of Sant Eknath Maharaj, an important religious event for the Warkaris and a key part of Marathwada’s spiritual identity, will begin in Paithan on Monday. In view of the event, the municipal council administration has begun preparations.

Meetings of various departments were held under the guidance of MLA and Sansthan president Vilas Bhumre and district collector Deelip Swami to ensure smooth organisation of the festival. The municipal council has completed arrangements for city cleanliness, the Palkhi route, and the Godavari riverbed area.

Chief officer Dr Pallavi Ambhore personally inspected the riverbed area. With the help of JCB machines and tractors, pits were filled and the space for devotees’ camps was levelled.

Although the main event lasts for three days, the influx of Warkaris usually continues for eight to ten days. Adequate water tanks, sanitation facilities and special health teams have been deployed. Arrangements for accommodation and other facilities for devotees have also been made across the town.

Hundreds of Dindis (pilgrim groups) began arriving in Paithan from Saturday evening, and the administration welcomed the devotees enthusiastically.
