Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: “Indians proved wrong the doubts of the British that democracy would be successful after independence. In the last 75 years, parliamentary democracy has been successful through self-knowledge and community wisdom gained from Indian tradition,” Haribhau Bagade,

Governor of Rajasthan.

He was speaking at the name extension of the Department of Public Administration of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) in a national seminar organised on the campus today. The Department will now be known as the 'Department of Public Administration and Public Policy'. Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Walmik Sarwade presided over the function.

Secretary to the Governor of Maharashtra, Dr Prashant Naranware, Dr Parasmal Bora, Head of Department Dr Shyam Shirsath, Convenor Dr Jyoti Dhaygude, and Dr Satish Dandage were also present. Initially, Dr Satish Dandage was felicitated on his retirement by Haribhau Bagde.

Also, two books, ‘Election Process and Procedure in India’ written by Dr Shyam Shirsath and Dr Vinod Aware and ‘Smart Mind, Safe Mind’ written by Dr Swapnil Kumre, were also released.

Haribhau Bagade said it is necessary to provide education outside the textbooks to students from school age.

He said that to become aware and sensitive citizens, everyone should understand the Indian Constitution.
