Aurangabad, Oct 24:

The DMIC has international standard industrial facilities and has the right environment for Tesla, a leading US-based company in the field of eco-friendly electric vehicle manufacturing. Hence the public representatives and members of the industrial associations will meet the industry minister and high-ranking officials in the industries department to ensure that Tesla invests in Aurangabad.

The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) is a five-star industrial estate in Aurangabad covering an area of 10,000 acres. So far no anchor project has come in this industrial estate. Earlier, it was rumoured that Kia Motors would come to Aurangabad. But the company moved to another state. Now Tesla has shown interest in coming to India. In this regard, industries minister Subhash Desai and environment minister Aditya Thackeray interacted with the board of directors of Tesla through a webinar. Speaking to this newspaper, MP Intiyaz Jaleel said, "The DMIC industrial area here is conducive for the industry in all respects. There is good connectivity of air, rail, roads. There is also a dry port. So Tesla should invest here. Public representatives will meet the chief minister, guardian minister and senior officials of the industry department and request them to call the public representatives for discussion with company delegation. If need be, the government should allow us to go to the US and explain to the company the benefits of investing in Aurangabad. The previous government failed to persuade Kia Motor. That shouldn''t be the case with this industry." MLA Prashant Bamb said "The DMIC meets the investment criteria of Tesla. The public representatives will work together to bring this industry here."

Aurangabad is better than other metro cities

Mukund Kulkarni, chairman CII Marathwada Zonal Council, said "Last week, industrial associations including CII, CMIA, Massia and Aurangabad First jointly approached the industries department officials to bring Tesla to Aurangabad. Currently, there is a competition between Bangalore and Chennai for attracting this investment. Given the growing congestion and inflation in the metro cities in the future, Aurangabad has aa better option. The city is better in terms of quality lifestyle and infrastructure and has low-cost living."
