Aurangabad, Jan 14:

A pigeon is reported to have been died of nylon manja (thread used for flying kites) today. It so happened that the bird was found lying dead near the compound wall of a hotel, situated on Railway Station Road, in the afternoon.

The eye-witness informed the Animal Husbandry office. Accordingly, the squad took the bird for testing in the laboratory. The investigation revealed that the pigeon had died of manja, not due to Bird Flu, said the assistant commissioner (Animal Husbandry), Dr Vallabh Joshi.
