In the Khara Kunwa area near Maratha High School on Thursday, locals spotted a pigeon struggling after getting entangled in nylon manja on an electric pole. Recognising the gravity of the situation, alert local women immediately notified a rescue team. The team successfully rescued the bird and admitted it to the Khadkeshwar veterinary hospital for treatment. Thanks to the alertness of Bharti Jain, the life of the bird was saved. A second incident took place on the same day in the Osmanpura area. Social worker Sachin Shirsat informed secretary of the Life Care Animal Welfare Association Jayesh Shinde, about the situation. The injured pigeon was immediately rushed to the above hospital in Khadkeshwar for necessary medical care. These recurring incidents once again highlight the severe injuries caused to birds by nylon manja. The rescue team has appealed to citizens to strictly avoid using nylon manja to prevent such tragedies.
