Chatrapati Sambhajinagar

Thieves broke into the home of Vaishali Gupta in Shivna village, Sillod tehsil, while the family was away at a Nagpur wedding and Rajasthan pilgrimage between February 11–18.

Breaking the lock at night, they stole 7 tolas of gold jewellery, 1 kg of silver jewellery, and Rs 1.70 lakh cash, totalling Rs 15 lakh. Neighbours noticed the house locked from outside on February 17 and alerted the family. A complaint was filed at Ajantha Police Station. A fingerprint expert team led by police sub-inspector Amol Dhakane visited the scene and prepared a panchanama. Police are investigating from all angles and will examine CCTV footage to trace the accused. Dhakane advised residents to inform police or neighbours before travelling and avoid leaving valuables at home.
