Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A 750 mm water pipeline supplying from the railway station to the Jubilee Park reservoir burst at around 3 am on Thursday at Mill Corner, disrupting supply in several old city areas on Gudhi Padwa.

The municipal corporation shut supply and began repairs, with officials stating that a full pipe section needs replacement and work may continue till late night. The old cement pipeline, located near the police commissionerate entrance, reportedly burst due to high pressure, flooding the road. Ongoing repairs have been slowed due to multiple underground cables, said deputy engineer Kiran Dhande.

Supply hit:

Areas including Budhilane, Juna Bazaar, Asafia Colony, Jaybhimnagar, and the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) area will face a one-day delay. Citizens have been urged to use water sparingly.

Power impact:

Heavy rainfall on Wednesday night caused a power outage till 5 am, disrupting pumping in areas like Shahaganj, Vishwabharati Colony, Cidco N-5 and N-7. Supply resumed gradually but delays persisted.
