Citywide security measures

Ahead of polling on December 15, police under Commissioner Pawar, including Deputy Commissioners Pankaj Atulkar, Prashant Swami, Sharmistha Gharge-Walawalkar, and Ratnakar Navle, deployed personnel citywide. Sensitive areas were monitored using over ten drones, and “route marches” were conducted for eight days to remind citizens of law and order. After polling on Thursday, counting took place on Friday. Pre-election clashes in Shahaganj, Chikalthana, and Naregaon prompted extra vigilance. In ten sensitive wards, police patrolled throughout the day, with each major square manned by one sub-inspector, two constables, and two traffic personnel.
