Aurangabad, March 9:

Vedantnagar police have started an investigation of two women maids, on the suspect of stealing gold ornaments and other items all valuing around Rs 3 lakh from a hotelier's house staying in Padmapani Colony (in Railway Station vicinity), recently. The incident came to light on March 3 evening. The complainant had mentioned the names of two domestic help as suspects.

The complainant Akash Mahesh Kamlani stays along with his parents, and a sister stays in Padmapani Colony. He runs a hotel in Railway Station vicinity. There are two maids, Nanda Misal and Sangeeta Ahire, who work as maids to clean utensils, clothes and house. The complainant's close relative had died; therefore, his parents left for Pune on February 17, his sister had been to her college at Kanchanwadi, and he was busy with his work at home. Akash's father returned home on February 22 and his mother on March 3. After her arrival, when she opened her almirah, all her gold valuables were not in their place. Her gold bangles, diamond ring, golden ring, gold earrings and other ornaments were missing. She inquired about them with the family members in the house but was in vain. Later on, she asked the maids, but they also pleaded innocence.

Kamlani then complained and mentioned the names of maids as suspects because no new person had visited their house till the incident came to light. Further investigation is on.
