Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Pundaliknagar police have deployed a task force to track all associates of notorious gangster Shubham Jat (30) following a premeditated shooting over a mobile and a dispute involving a girl. Police custody has been extended for seven attackers until January 23, and a separate case has been filed against Jat’s family for resisting arrest and attacking police.

Shubham Jat, active in crime since 2012 with over 15 serious cases, returned from Hyderabad and immediately challenged authorities. On January 19 morning, he and his gang attacked the house of Ajay Kagda’s relative, Sachin Lahot, in Mukundwadi, firing twice. Arrested accomplices Mayur Sanjay Unge, Shiva Ramesh Bhalerao, Golya alias Vijay Dhanai, Manoj Sanjay Padul, Sagar Raut, and Amar alias Atul Pawar were produced in court Tuesday. Police custody was sought to probe the pistol supply, other conspirators, and motives.

Jat’s family now on police radar

Jat’s family including brother Kailas, sister Poonam, mother Sukhna, and wife Neha resisted police, prompting a separate case at Satara police station. The family now faces scrutiny.

Police prepare to act against all of Shubham’s contacts

Police Commissioner Pravin Pawar has vowed strict action against all criminals linked to Jat. The gang, notorious for posting objectionable content online, is now under a comprehensive operation to dismantle its network.
