Aurangabad, April 13:

A special team set up by the commissioner of police raided a gambling den in a field at Lavki-Kasoda at 2.30 am on Monday and nabbed nine gamblers. Some gamblers were able to escape. Police have seized cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh, 13 mobiles, 10 motorcycles and a car worth a total of Rs 14 lakh.

According to details, API Rahul Rode received a tip-off about a gambling den located in a farm owned by Dnyaneshwar Laxman Hiwale in Kasoda. A team then raided the field at 2.30 am. The police caught the suspects playing Zannamanna without a mask. Seeing the police, three to four gamblers escaped in a car (MH-01- AM-4353). The police arrested Sheikh Muktar Sheikh Nabi (41, Ranjangaon Shenpunji), Ankush Sarjerao Patekar (29, Turkabad Kharadi), Bharat Dhondiram Naik (32), Saurabh Vishnu Unwane (28), Harun Niyajuddin Sheikh (40, Waluj), Vikas Janardan Dhanait (19, Turkabad Kharadi), Sheikh Tayyab Sheikh Budhan (Ranjangaon), Abdul Rashid Abdul Sattar (54, Sadatnagar) and Vijay Dadarao Shejwal (35, Wadgaon Kolhati).
