Jinsi police have arrested a man for betting on an ongoing IPL cricket match. The operation was carried out in Old Mondha area on Sunday. Ganesh Kachru Vyavahare (35, New Hanuman Nagar) is the name of the arrested laborer.

Police seized Rs 24,000 cash and two mobile phones from his possession. However, police are searching for other bookies, including Manoj Dagda, the main accused in the case. Jinsi police got information that betting on the match was being done through mobile. Accordingly, the police set a trap in the old Mondha area and arrested Vyavahare.

The police also found that Ganesh, Nisar and Khan (full name not known) used to get the price of betting on WhatsApp and calls from Dagda. According to the report, the three were taking money from the citizens and betting through Dagda. Police have registered a case against notorious bookie Dagda and his accomplices Ganesh, Nisar and Khan.

A police investigation further revealed that Manoj Dagda was providing money through his facilitators after winning the bet. Also Asif Bhai, Amjat Seth, Sajid and Mamu were also betting on IPL through mobile ID. PI Venkatesh Kendra, PSI Datta Shelke, constable Harun Sheikh, Sanjay Gawande, Sunil Jadhav, Santosh Bamnawat and home guard Sheikh Basit participated in the drive.
