Aurangabad, Dec 25:

Kranti Chowk police chased and caught a vehicle carrying 5 cattle - cows and calves for slaughter at Sillekhana. However, the driver and the cleaner fled from the scene. The operation was carried out on Sillekhana road on Thursday night.

Kranti Chowk police SI Anita Bagul was on patrol on Thursday night when she came across a vehicle carrying cattle for slaughter at Sillekhana. SI Bagul along with Madhav Gaikwad and police team immediately set a trap on Sillekhana road. The police directed the vehicle to stop. However, the driver drove off without stopping. The driver and the cleaner stopped the vehicle and fled in the dark when the police started chasing them. During the inspection, the police found 3 cows and 2 calves. The vehicle was later seized and a case was registered against the driver and the cleaner. The confiscated livestock was sent to the cow shelter by the police.
