Authorities will take stringent action against individuals attempting to disrupt communal harmony through social media, and offenders may face restrictions in both government and private employment, warned ACP Sanjay Sanap. The announcement was made during a peace committee meeting at MIDC Waluj Police Station on Friday evening.

With major religious festivals such as Gudi Padwa, Ramzan Eid, Shri Ram Navami, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti approaching, law enforcement officials emphasized the importance of maintaining peace. Citizens were urged to celebrate responsibly and avoid spreading provocative content online. Police cautioned social media users against posting inflammatory material and advised group administrators to remove members engaging in such activities. Authorities also encouraged the public to report any objectionable content immediately to help prevent communal discord. The peace committee meeting was attended by Senior PI Rameshwar Gade, API Arvind Shinde, PSI Salim Shaikh, Vikram Wagh and Yogesh Shelke, along with local representatives Lalchand Kasure, Arjun Adamane, Anita Patil, Balasaheb Andhale, and other community leaders. The initiative aims to strengthen social unity and deter attempts to incite tensions through digital platforms.
