Aurangabad, May 7:

The government has announced Rs 1,000 assistance to the poor in the state so that they do not suffer during the lockdown. The lockdown began in the state since April 15, but the elderly, widows and the disabled have not received any help.

Meanwhile, the pensions for the months of April and March have been sanctioned at the tehsil level for crediting to the account of beneficiaries of various government schemes. This is a relief to the poor as the money will soon be credited to the beneficiary's account, claimed the officials of the Niradhar scheme cell. Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had said that beneficiaries under various pension and assistance schemes, including the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana, Shravanbal and central schemes for widows, senior citizens and disabled will be given Rs 1,000 each for two months in advance on the backdrop of lockdown. But no amount has been credited on the account of beneficiaries. However, regular pension has been deposited on the account.

Will be sanctioned

Tehsildar Anita Bhalerao said that the grants for March and April have been received. The amount will be credited to the beneficiary's account. Any further grants received from the government will also be deposited immediately.

Beneficiaries of the schemes:

Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana - 33642

Shravanbal Yojana - 59030

Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme - 38879

Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme - 714

Indira Gandhi National Disabled Pension Scheme - 162

National Family Benefit Scheme - 162
