Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A procession of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's portrait was taken out to the beat of drums and cymbals in Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) on Thursday as part of Shiv Jayanti celebration. The girls' Lezim team attracted the attention of the attendees.

The procession started from the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji at 8 am. Vice Chancellor Dr Vijay Phulari started the procession by offering flowers to the portrait of Shivaji Maharaj.

The participants, wearing saffron turbans, attracted attention in the procession that lasted for about three hours. The girls won the hearts of the audience by presenting a lezim. The procession, which lasted for about three hours, concluded after reaching the main auditorium.

Pro VC Dr Walmik Sarwade, Registrar Dr Prashant Amrutkar, In-charge Finance and Accounts Officer Dr Sanjay Kavade, Management Council Member Kashinath Deodhar and others were present.
