Activists of the Shiv Kranti Sena (SKS) attempted to take ''jal samadhi'' (water death) in the water reservoir at Bordahegaon village in the Vaijapur tehsil on Monday, as a part of their agitation to protest the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in the state alleging the later that it did not present a strong case of Maratha reservation in the Supreme Court.

The activists demanded that the stay on the Maratha reservation should be vacated, the government should suspend the recruitment process in the police as well as other departments till the issue of the reservation is resolved, provide government job to the family members of those who laid down their lives for the cause of reservation, withdrawing offences of the Maratha reservation protesters across the state and provide ample funds to the Annasaheb Patil financial backward development corporation and Sarathi institute.

The organisation sent a memorandum to chief minister mentioning its concern about the reservation and also criticised the government of its failure to present the case in the Supreme Court in a powerful manner.

The founder of SKS, Sanjay Sawant, state president Sunil Bodakhe, Somnath Magar, Dadasaheb Ghaywat, Vikram Shinde, Bhagwan Magar raised slogans against the state government before entering the water despite the police security. The police immediately detained all the activists who attempted to take jal samadhi at 11 am.
