The birth of Lord Ram, believed to have taken place on the Navami tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the Chaitra month under the Punarvasu nakshatra, will be celebrated Thursday at 12 noon across the city.

Temples have completed preparations, with programmes including kirtans, maha aarti, chariot processions, rallies, distribution of prasad, and social activities. At Kiradpura Ram temple, a kirtan by H.B.P. Prabhakar Borse Maharaj will begin at 10 am, followed by the birth celebration and aarti at noon. A chariot procession will be taken out at 5 pm via Cidco N-6, N-5 Bajrang Chowk. Osmanpura Ram temple has also been decorated, where rituals, bhajans, and a blood donation camp will be held. A procession by the Ram Navami Utsav Committee will start from Sansthan Ganpati temple, Raja Bazaar, at 4 pm. Another rally by the International Hindu Parishad and Rashtriya Bajrang Dal will begin from Kranti Chowk at 4:30 pm, passing through Paithan Gate to Gulmandi. At Garkheda Road’s Gajanan Maharaj temple, ‘Geet Ramayan’ will begin at 9.30 am, featuring singer Vaishali Karanjkar and others. In Ulkanagari, celebrations will be held at 6 pm along with health camps and street plays.
