Aurangabad, May 7:

The Muslim brethren will be celebrating the Eid-ul-Fitr (Ramzan Eid) in a low-key manner for the second consecutive year due to the implementation of lockdown in the wake of Coronavirus in the district. Meanwhile, the religious leaders have appealed to the devotees to perform the special prayers and celebrate Eid in a very simple way.

In 2021, the holy month of Ramzan commenced from the mid of April to the mid of May. Coincidentally, the weather was not so hot and had not exceeded 40 degrees Celsius during the month. As a result, the devotees did not face inconvenience during the fasting in the summer season. The regular shops (including the ones selling essential commodities) were getting closed during the daytime, but the district administration had granted permission for the devotees to buy their fruits required to break the fast during the evening hours. Today was the last Friday of the holy month.

As per the 30-days fasting schedule, the Eid would be on May 13 or 14, depending upon the appearance of the crescent moon. During the whole month, the Muslim devotees prayed to the Almighty Allah to get rid of the Coronavirus. Moreover, many of the families are struggling to come out of the stressful situation as their nearer and dearer were been infected with the virus. Hence, the Eid celebration would be very simple. Presently, the families are preferring to buy dry fruits and necessary items before the closure of shops at 11 am.

Prayer for the mankind

Maulana Naseem Miftahi said, " The whole world is reeling under the threat of Coronavirus. Hence, during the whole month, the Muslims prayed to Allah to save mankind and protect all of us from this virus. I appeal to the community brethren to donate 'Zakat to the poor and needy around you and celebrate the festival in a very simple manner."
